How do I capture onscreen actions using “Full Screen Capture”? |
The first thing to decide is what you want your final project size to be. For example, if you want your Viewlet’s playback size to be a default of 640x480, make sure that your monitor’s resolution is set to this BEFORE using the Full Screen Capture option. Once your monitor is set to the desired resolution, open ViewletCam. Select “File-New” from the menu options and create a new project. From the “Choose Capture Mode” screen, choose “Capture full screen” and click “Next”. Follow the instructions to begin your screen capture session. What is the difference between “DirectX” and “GDI” capture mode? |
“DirectX” (usually by default already installed on Windows operating systems) is a program interface that manages graphic images and multimedia effects, which ViewletCam uses for onscreen sessions when using this mode. “GDI” stands for Graphical Device Interface, and can also be used by ViewletCam during capture of onscreen actions, though it might handle video hardware acceleration a bit slower than DirectX. If you are unsure which mode to use for ViewletCam onscreen captures, click the “Select a mode automatically…” button and ViewletCam will detect the correct mode to use automatically. |

How do I change the Hotkeys used for onscreen capture sessions? |
When creating new projects, you have the ability to change the Hotkeys used for the “Start / Stop” and the “Pause / Resume” functions during an active screenshot session. To do this, in the “Capture…” screen that appears prior to starting a screenshot session, you will see a button next to the “Start / Stop” and the “Pause / Resume” options. Press the appropriate button. When the pop-up window appears, press the Hotkey combination desired (note: you can choose up to three keys for one Hotkey combination). Click “OK” to apply.
